Detroit based producer/DJ, Mykel Waters lives and breathes music of all genres, experimenting with sounds from Deep House to Techno. His defining sound is a mixture of Classic House, Deep House with elements of Techno to fuse together melodic sounds and fragmented vocals crossed with deep techy grooves and heavy bass lines. Waters emerged from the 90's in the birthplace of Techno to become the kind of artist who pays homage to the music that inspired him to create his own interpretation of music. His musical journey began after learning to DJ in his early twenties and spending countless hours searching record bins and many sleepless nights practicing.
His productions caught the attention of legends in the music industry like DJ Pierre, Orlando Voorn, Roy Davis Jr, DJ Hell to name a few. Over the years Mykel worked closely with former A&R of Strictly Rhythm and Musical Legend DJ Pierre from Chicago on his various record labels. Recently Mykel has started working with i! Records from New Jersey, where his first EP release with them charted in top ten on Traxsources Deep House charts. Mykel also charted in the top 100 in the Afro House Charts with the banging track “Dig This Vibe”.
Mykel also has his own monthly radio show Balance on Digitally Imported radio which has been bringing quality tracks to the station for over 6 years now.
The future looks very promising for this Native Detroiter, with a ton of productions being prepared for release and gigs lined up Mykel is one to watch out for.
